Finally, here's the Women & Wine series!
It's been a while in the making and I'm very happy with the result.
So why Women & Wine?
I'm releasing paintings as series now because most galleries like to rotate art monthly, and once I have a few series built up I can have some steady rotating shows at different locations.
Each series will be a self portrait; i.e. the stuff that makes me up. Women and wine are my two greatest weaknesses/pleasures; and no, I'm not a drunk male slut...The most beautiful things in life are often our biggest vices. This series captures passion, temptation, inhibition, and pleasure, and rolls it all into one package.
I'm gathering ideas and sketching studies for the next series...wait for it...drum roll...OLD TEXAS.
Texas is a huge part of who I am, and the next self portrait series will be of iconic Texas themes using the same style as the pictures below. I think the juxtaposition of the old theme against the modern style will make for some really cool paintings. Please comment below the post, and let me know what you think about the idea!
This series will be shown next:
Time | Friday, March 4 · 5:30pm - 7:30pm |
---|---|
Location | Framers Gallery, 610 South Main Street, Georgetown, TX 78626-5711 |
*I'm releasing a new painting for this upcoming show!

ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thanks for the feedback! Ha, ha, we are definitely loud and proud!
ReplyDeleteHey Will, just stopped by to see what you've been creating! Passion Noir 11.5X32 is my favorite! I love the colors you use bold and beautiful! Blessings ~ Jennifer Dempsey
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer! Thank you so much for the compliments & I'm glad you enjoy my art! Passion Noir is one of my personal favs too. Most of the series is based on images, but Passion Noir, Raise the Bar, & First & Second Glass were all sketches straight from the ol' brain. Thanks again & I'll put some new stuff up on the blog soon! Cheers ~WB
