Escaping to Italy gave me a chance to get away from my comfort zone and the way I perceived the world. It also helped me break free of the bounds of traditional art. I became fixated with the idea of showing a deeper meaning within my art. Drawing landscapes and still lifes became boring. I finally found a way to portray a more meaningful story about the subject by framing one picture within another. This has allowed for a cause and effect composition. It allows relationships to be show; a collaboration of body and soul.
