Epic Love
I've found that pictures really can't do justice for these raised reliefs. I wish the camera could capture more. I've been trying to push the boundaries of canvas art, but I can't make a 2D image speak in three dimensions. Raised relief has been in full swing since the Byzantine days, so I'm just throwing out the modern day remix.
This piece was inspired by some passing train cars. I know that there are differing opinions on graffiti. I think graffiti is art in it's truest form. It is completely un-inhibited by social constraint. It's pure representation of the artists thought. It's free from clients that tend to destroy ideas with the best of intentions. All art should be commissioned by the artist. One of the captivating aspects of graffiti seems to be the thrill of the forbbiden. This is where the Epic Love theme comes in. The theme is old. It has been around long before the Montague, Capulet days. There's just a cool feeling I get when looking at the painting. Its a mix of emotion and a loud story that you can't hear.
