This is one of my new favorites. It is a graffiti Semper Fi painting for my buddy who is in the Marines. His wife had it commissioned for his Christmas present. I used spray paint, acrylic, and oil paint. The letters were the tricky part. I had originally hoped to use sharpie for the lettering. Unfortunately the ink wouldn't adhere to the blue acrylic paint so I ended up hand painting them with a tiny round brush and black gesso paint. The bricks in the background look cooler in person. I used modeling paste (big fan) to give the texture, and then blue oil paint with thinning/drying accelerant to outline the bricks. It ended up giving this 3 effect which I'm really happy with. The shadow of the saluting Marine was done with a light layer of spray paint. I'm glad that the idea for this painting worked out well, and I'm really happy that my friends like it so much.
