I just finished this watercolor which is a donation piece for the ASLA scholarship auction. Its based on a watercolor that I painted while in Italy. I really forgot how much I missed watercolor. I went to a gallery while in Italy, and the artist passionately told me that the only true painting media are watercolor and oil. He said they are the "only living medium"...I don't fully agree with him, but there is a visual quality in watercolor that's just impossible to catch/replicate with any other type of paint.
